Welcome back to school! We hope the children have had a fantastic Summer holiday and enjoyed spending time with their friends and families. We’re so excited to see all of their smiling faces again and to hear about everything the children have been up to.

This year, we’ll be diving into amazing stories, creating some exciting pieces of writing, solving tricky puzzles in maths, and discovering fascinating facts about the world around us. Our focus this half term in Geography is learning about the human and physical geographical features of Immingham. In addition to this, there will be plenty of chances to be creative as in Art we will be focusing on the skill of painting and in PHRSE the children will be learning about their emotions and how to manage them. With lots of learning to get our teeth into, we know you’re going to shine bright and make this year really special.

Every week your children will be assigned home learning and reading to complete with your support. This will be available via the Learning with Parents app. Please help your children by reading with them at least 3 times a week and encouraging them to engage with the homework set. Don’t hesitate to share audio recordings and photos of the children enjoying this. We love to see the children partaking in home learning and we celebrate this in class too.

Your new P.E. days will be a Tuesday and Thursday. We would encourage your children to bring in their P.E. kits on a Monday and leave them in school all week as these days sometimes change at short notice.

We can’t wait to begin this adventure with you. Let’s make Year 2 the best year yet!
